Update: Tennessee and Indiana Report New Fungal Meningitis Cases

The Centers for Disease Control reported seven new cases of fungal meningitis, one in Tennessee, which brings the nationwide case count to 203. The CDC added a new state to the list, New Hampshire, which reported four cases of fungal meningitis. No new deaths were reported.

The Tennessean reports the states that saw a rise in fungal meningitis comprises Tennessee, Florida, Indiana and New Hampshire. Tennessee, Florida and Indiana reported one new case each, whereas New Hampshire reported four new cases, which brought the total to seven new cases nationwide.

Tennessee's overall case count is 53 with six deaths.

Two separate cases of fungal joint infection have been reported, one in Michigan and the other state is unknown.
