Run-Walk to Honor Memory of Woman Slain in Russell County

A memorial race to honor a pregnant runner slain last month in Russell County, Kentucky is gaining international support from a Facebook campaign.

The four-mile run and walk for Sarah Brooke Hart is scheduled for Aug. 11 at 9:30 EDT in Russell Springs. It's called "Run With All Your Hart," and organizers tell WLEX  those who can't make it to the race are signing up as "virtual runners." All 50 states and six countries are represented.

Thirty-one-year-old Hart, of Jamestown, was found dead in a field near where she had been running June 14. An autopsy confirmed she was 10 to 11 weeks pregnant with her fourth child and had been strangled.

Twenty-eight-year-old Christopher Allman of Jamestown has pleaded not guilty to murder, fetal homicide, kidnapping and robbery in her death.

More information about the run and walk can be found at www.runwithallyourhart.com.
