One of the nation’s leading producers of chicken, pork and beef products for customers around the globe announced on Thursday that it’s expanding with a new facility in Bowling Green.

It’s a huge win for Warren County.

Tyson Foods is investing $355 million in a new facility in the Kentucky Transpark that will create 450 full-time jobs.

The 400,000-square-foot plant will mainly process Wright Brand bacon and Jimmy Dean products for the retail and food service industries.

Gov. Andy Beshear said even in a year when Kentucky has been breaking economic development records, the Tyson project stands out.

“I’m proud today to announce the largest new location investment on record in Warren County, meaning this is the largest new project in Warren County’s history,” said Beshear.

Tyson Foods already employs more than 3,900 people at existing facilities in Kentucky.

“Food, beverage and agritech are vital to our growing economy and Tyson Foods plays a very important role in that growth," said Beshear. "So congratulations to Bowling Green.”
