  • Kennedy Gayheart is one of WKU Public Radio's student news producers. Gayheart is a senior at Western Kentucky University double majoring in Broadcasting and Public Relations. She's a Lexington native and though this is her first semester working as a student news producer, she is excited for the learning opportunities to come.
  • Giselle is LPM's Breaking News/General Assignment reporter. She is a graduate of Bellarmine University where she received a bachelor's in communications and a masters in digital media. Before LPM, she interned at LEO Weekly and CNN Digital in her undergrad. She has been a Louisville resident since 2021, but is originally from Belleville, IL, right outside of St. Louis, MO.
  • Sonja Hutson is a politics and government reporter at KUER. She’s been reporting on politics ever since the 10th grade, when she went to so many school board meetings the district set up a press table for her. Before coming to Utah, Sonja spent four years at KQED in San Francisco where she covered everything from wildfires to the tech industry. When she’s not working, you can find her skiing, camping, or deeply invested in a 1000 piece puzzle.
  • Emily Jones locally hosts Morning Edition and reports on all things coastal Georgia for GPB’s Savannah bureau. Before coming to GPB, she studied broadcast journalism at the Columbia Journalism School and urban history at Brown University. She’s worked for the Wall Street Journal Radio Network, WHYY in Philadelphia, and WBRU and RIPR in Providence. In addition to anchoring and reporting news at WBRU, Emily hosted the alt-rock station’s Retro Lunch as her DJ alter-ego, Domino.
  • Hannah Saad is the Assistant News Director for WKMS. Originally from Michigan, Hannah earned her bachelor’s degree in news media from The University of Alabama in 2021. Hannah moved to western Kentucky in the summer of 2021 to start the next chapter of her life after graduation. Prior to joining WKMS in March 2023, Hannah was a news reporter at The Paducah Sun. Her goal at WKMS is to share the stories of the region from those who call it home. Outside of work, Hannah enjoys exploring local restaurants, sports photography, painting, and spending time with her fiancé and two dogs.
