Councilman Can't Hold Two Jobs

Frankfort, KY – The attorney general's office says a Lexington councilman who also works for the state can't hold both jobs.
George Myers is ombudsman for the state Cabinet for Health and Family Services.
State law says no one may be a state officer and at the same time work as an officer or employee of a county, city or consolidated local government.
Myers says he doesn't know ho he'll proceed.
He was elected as a councilman for the Lexington-FayetteCounty Urban Government in November 2004. He started the state job is April 2005.
