Allen County Deputy In Crash

By AP

Scottsville, KY – An Allen County deputy sheriff has undergone surgery at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville after being injured in a traffic crash.
Sheriff Les Marsh and medical officials say 43 year old Robert Gaston of Scottsville is listed "critical but stable" at Vanderbilt Hospital following surgery for internal injuries.
Gaston and three members of a Bowling Green family in a pickup were hurt when the two vehicles collided at the intersection of U.S. 31E and Kentucky 101 late Tuesday morning. Gaston was alone in his patrol car answering a report of someone breaking into a house.
Marsh says there was no break-in attempt.
The other three people involved in the crash are also being treated for their injuries at Vanderbilt.
