Balkan War Survivor Brings Message of War, Exile, and Return to Bowling Green

Darius Barati

A survivor of the 1990s wars in the Balkans is visiting Bowling Green to say he believes forgiveness has it's place, as long as people don't forget what happened in the former Yugoslavia.

Kenin Trebincevic returned to his former home in Bosnia 20 years after the war ended.

His post-war visit resulted in the bestselling book, The Bosnia List.

Trebincevic will discuss his memoir Thursday, Mar. 22, at the Bob Kirby branch of the Warren County Library. The event is free and open to the public, and begins at 7 pm.

The author is visiting Kentucky as part of Western Kentucky University's "Year of Bosnia-Herzagovenia".
