A new Courier-Journal Bluegrass Poll shows just over half of Kentuckians approves of the job performance of both Senators Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul. According to the poll, McConnell has a 51% approval rating. Paul does slightly better, with a 53% approval mark.
The poll is based on telephone interviews and internet surveys conducted Sept. 11-13 with 606 likely Kentucky voters. The margin of error for the poll was plus or minus 4.1 percentage points.
While just more than half of those surveyed said they approved of the job being done by Sen. McConnell, 42% of poll respondents said they disapproved of the job done by the conservative Republican from Louisville.
Bowling Green Republican Rand Paul faces a 38% disapproval rating in the poll.
Meanwhile, another Courier-Journal Bluegrass Pollshows Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney leading President Barack Obama comfortably, 53% to 39%. That survey involved the same number of respondents as the Kentucky Senate poll, with the same margin of error.
