Federal Court to Reveal Judges for Sypher's Appeal

A federal Appeals Court is set to reveal the identities of the three judges who will hear an appeal from a woman convicted of trying to extort University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino. The U. S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals is scheduled Monday to release the list of three-judge panels that will hear cases starting May 28th.

The appeal of 52 year old Karen Sypher is set to be heard by the Cincinnati-based court on May 31st.

In 2010, a jury convicted Sypher of extortion, lying to the FBI and retaliation against a witness.

Prosecutors said she sought millions in cash, cars and a house from Pitino to stay quiet about a tryst in a Louisville restaurant.

She's serving a seven year sentence at a federal prison in Florida.
