Adair County Constable Arrested

Columbia, KY – An Adair County constable has been found guilty on charges stemming fron accusations that he provided illegal substances to state inmates.
Kenneth "Buck" Downey was found guilty by a jury in Adair County Circuit Court. The charges include trafficking in a controlled substance, complicity to promote contraband and official misconduct.
According to police, Downey provided drugs to state inmates on a work detail in the county road garage. Downey also works for the county's road department.
The jury recommended the maximum sentence for Downey which is up to ten years in prison. Formal sentencing will take place May 23rd.
