Kentucky Counties Get State Tornado Aid

By AP

Frankfort, KY – Kentucky counties hit by a weekend tornado will get help from the state
in paying their clean-up costs.
State officials say Crittenden, Hart and Henderson Counties are eligible
for state transportation cabinet money. Counties may use the money to
cover debris clean-up costs and for infrastructure repairs.
Each of the counties suffered tornado damage Sunday.
A tornado cut through Munfordville early Sunday morning, destroying homes
and businesses in its path.
It also caused heavy damage to Munfordville elementary school. Homes
were also destroyed in Crittenden County.
Governor Fletcher sent in 40 National Guard troops on Sunday after
declaring a state of emergency in the area.
A tornado also hit Ellis Park Race Track in Henderson before moving
into Indiana, where it killed 22 people.
