WKU Loses Close NIT Semifinal vs. Utah, Finishes Season 27-11

The Western Kentucky University men’s basketball team dropped a back-and-forth game with Utah Tuesday night in the semifinals of the National Invitation Tournament.

Utah beat the Hilltoppers 69-64 in New York City’s Madison Square Garden.  

WKU finishes the season with a record of 27-11. That’s the most wins for the team since the 2007-2008 season.

Senior forward Justin Johnson led WKU with 24 points and 11 rebounds in his final game for the Hilltoppers. Senior Dwight Coleby added 10 points and 13 rebounds.
