Louisville, KY – Health officials say a 76 year old Louisville man who was suspected of having West Nile Virus did in fact get the mosquito borne illness.
Bob Bryant of Pleasure Ridge Park has been hospitalized for two weeks at Caritas Medical center. His daughter, Lynn Forrest of Louisville,says he seems to be recovering but is too weak to walk and is having trouble swallowing.
She says her father's fever spiked above 104 degrees and he was in intensive care. State officials says Bryant's case of West Nile is the state's fourth human case this year. The last one in the metro area was in 2002, when there were 28 cases and two deaths.
