Tikrit, Iraq – An Army helicopter crash near Saddam Hussein's
hometown has killed six soldiers from the 101st
Airborne. A spokesman for the 4th Infantry Division
says the six were on board the chopper when it
crashed into a riverbank near Tikrit.
Military officials are investigating to determine
whether the helicopter was brought down by
mechanical problems or hostile fire. The 101st
Airborne is based at Fort Campbell.
