Lieutenant Governor and former Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson says he's wide open about maybe seeking a higher office. Abramson says he’s contemplating whether to challenge Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell's 2014 re-election bid."It's something I'm looking at," concedes Abramson. At lot of other good, qualified Democrats are looking at it also. I hope to be able to make a decision in the next couple of months."
If not that candidacy, Abramson says he'll decide whether to run for Governor the following year.
Abramson says he's met Ashley Judd several times. He believes the UK & Harvard-educated actress would be a formidable candidate if she decided, as has been rumored, to take on McConnell herself.
"I've had the opportunity to meet her over the years and I think she'd be a strong candidate if she chose to submit her name in nomination," admits Abramson.
Regardless on who takes on the challenge,
Abramson figures his party will have someone excellent in the race to defeat the nation's most powerful Republican.
