A Kentucky-based non-profit that rehabilitates migratory birds says a bald eagle shot recently in Barren County represents an unfortunate, yet growing trend.The Army Corps of Engineers captured an injured bald eagle at Barren River Lake last week.

U.S. Geological Survey Research biologist Todd Katzner said Bernheim’s work helps serve as a foundation for a conservation plan for the eastern population of golden eagles. x4“The work that Bernheim is doing is really critical to understanding where these birds are living, what they are eating,” Katzner said.
