Much of our region has been under severe storm warnings, including several tornado warnings, Thursday afternoon.

The Bowling Green, Elizabethtown, and Owensboro areas remain under a tornado watch until 4 p.m. central, 5 eastern.

An estimated 4,100 customers of Bowling Green Municipal Utilities were without power during the late morning and early afternoon. The utility said the power was restored to those customers by mid-afternoon.

Warren RECC said an estimated 1,200 customers were still without power Thursday at 2:30 p.m.  in Butler, Edmonson, Logan, Simpson, and Warren counties. That's down from the 6,300 customers that had no power earlier in the day.

At least 3,000 Owensboro Municipal Utilties customers also were without power Thursday because of the weather.

The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado in McCracken County this morning near Paducah around 9:20 a.m., impacting five square miles of the county.

The Paducah Sun reports one non-life threatening injury due to the tornado.

Another tornado was confirmed near the Union County town of Morganfield around 10:30 a.m.
