New Smiths Grove Library a Reality

After nearly thirty years of stops and starts, the new Smiths Grove Public Library had its official ribbon cutting Monday afternoon. The new five thousand square foot building replaces the old 1,500 square foot library.

Assistant Director for Warren County Public Libraries Ashley Folkes said the building became a reality after they went from a city-funded model to a county-funded one and the people of Smiths Grove stepped up with what she called "a groundswell of support". Construction began last fall. The new library contains shelves full of books, movies and CD's as well as a community meeting room and a "tree house" play area for children.
