Kentucky K-12 COVID-19 Dashboard Shows Nearly 2,000 Students in Quarantine

MGN

As COVID-19 continues to increase across Kentucky, the state K-12 dashboard asks schools to self-report student and staff cases, as well as the number quarantined.

The online resource shows that nearly 2,000 Kentucky students are currently in quarantine.

The K-12 COVID-19 Dashboardweekly update also shows new cases statewide include 393 students and 189 staff.

As for those in quarantine, the weekly update shows 1,976 students and 347 staff.

The dashboard went live Sept. 29, with school districts asked to post daily COVID updates on the site.

Kentucky Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman last week thanked more than 1,500 schools for posting their COVID-19 data, but she said that’s not enough.

“We have over 200 schools in Kentucky that have failed to provide this vital public health information to their communities even one day over the last two weeks. That is unacceptable and it’s irresponsible," Coleman said during the governor's Oct. 13 COVID-19 update on Facebook Live. "It jeopardizes the health of your students, your school staff, their families and your community.”

Coleman said there are 1,732 Kentucky schools in the K-12 COVID-19 Dashboard database.

Families can find K-12 COVID-19 data by county, school district and individual schools at kyCOVID19.ky.gov.
