Governor Steve Beshear was in Owensboro Wednesday for the dedication of the Kentucky Army National Guard Readiness Center. The facility is located adjacent to the Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport, which gives the Guard quick accessibility around the state and serves as a distribution point if supplies need to be flown in during a disaster or emergency.
The $14 million facility has more than 35,000 square feet of offices, classrooms, drill halls and storage.
It serves as a home for the 206th Engineer Battalion.
