Thousands of 2013 Ford Escape vehicles produced in Kentucky are being recalled by the automaker. The vehicles have carpet that could interfere with breaking, and came off the assembly line between March 8 and June 7.
Ford’s recall of over 8,000 Escapes manufactured at the Louisville Assembly Plant begins Monday.
The Courier-Journal reports a Ford spokeswoman says the company has not received any reports of accidents or injuries related to the problem, which she said was discovered through “internal evaluations.” Another spokesman said he didn’t know how Escape owners could tell whether their vehicle is subject to the recall, other than waiting for a letter from Ford.
