Former WKU swimmer Claire Donahue helped the United States 400 meter individual medley relay team advance to Saturday's finals by swimming in Friday's preliminaries. Donahue swam the butterfly leg of the race in 58.05 as the U.S. team clocked an overall time of 3:58.88, placing fourth in this morning's second heat and fourth overall.
Claire Donahue finished out of the medal race Sunday, but she still has one more chance at Olympic gold. Donahue, a former WKU swimmer, finished 7th in the women's 100m butterfly.
