Automaker Toyota is helping Kentucky schools expand an early childhood learning program. Toyota is giving $115,000 to open 10 more Born Learning programs in the commonwealth. The program is for pre-kindergarten students and their parents and is meant to prepare children to enter school.

Toyota officials along with Governor Steve Beshear are hailing the automaker's latest expansion as welcome news – both for a company recovering from highly publicized recalls starting in 2009 and the state of the economy in the Bluegrass.
Governor Steve Beshear has signed a bill into law that gives tax incentives to automakers in Kentucky. The new law allows manufacturers and suppliers to tap the incentives if they have 1,000 employees, have been in business in Kentucky for at least five years and are willing to invest $100 million in the state.
