Former Hilltopper Helps U.S. Olympic Team Advance in London

Former WKU swimmer and Olympian Claire Donahue

Former WKU swimmer Claire Donahue helped the United States 400 meter individual medley relay team advance to Saturday's finals by swimming in Friday's preliminaries. Donahue swam the butterfly leg of the race in 58.05 as the U.S. team clocked an overall time of 3:58.88, placing fourth in this morning's second heat and fourth overall.

Louisville native Clark Burckle

Louisville native Clark Burckle finished sixth in Wednesday's finals of the men's 200-meter breaststroke. Burckle was a high school star at St. Xavier High School before swimming collegiately at the Univesity of Arizona.

Former Hilltopper Swimmer Finishes in Top 8 at Olympic Butterfly Race, Has Second Chance at Medal

Claire Donahue finished out of the medal race Sunday, but she still has one more chance at Olympic gold. Donahue, a former WKU swimmer, finished 7th in the women's 100m butterfly.
