Voter ID Controversy Continues in Tennessee

A federal judge in Nashville says he isn't convinced photo IDs issued by the public library in Memphis meet the state standard to vote. But U.S. District Judge Kevin H. Sharp also expressed concern at a Wednesday hearing that poll workers were discouraging people who presented the IDs from voting on provisional ballots.

Gas Explosion at Opryland Hotel Leads to Evacuation of Thousands of Guests

Officials in Nashville say a gas explosion at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center caused the evacuation of over 5,000 guests overnight, but no injuries were reported.

Capt. Ken Walburn of the Nashville Fire Department said the explosion was reported around 8:15pm Tuesday evening, and guests were allowed back into the hotel around 3 am Wednesday.
