Historical Marker to be Added at Muhammid Ali Birthplace

The Kentucky Historical Society will dedicate a marker in honor of the western Louisville home where boxing great Muhammid Ali was born.  Ali, who was born Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr., lived in the home with his parents and brother.

Kentucky's Oldest, Most Storied Orchestra Strikes Deal with Management

Leaders for the Louisville Orchestra Musicians Association say they've ratified an agreement for a new contract with orchestra management. The announcement is likely to end a months-long impasse. The Courier-Journal reports the deal calls for a one-year contract covering 57 musicians for 30 weeks a year with a base salary level of $925 a week, including medical and pension benefits.

Funding Will Help Kentucky Researchers Battle Heart Disease

Research being done in Kentucky to treat one of the great health crises of our time is getting a major boost. Monday the University of Louisville announced a new seven year, $3.4 million grant from the National Institutes of Health aimed at finding cures for cardiovascular disease.

Major Construction Starts this Week on I-65 in Louisville

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is moving ahead this week with a total pavement replacement and other improvements on a 4.2 mile stretch of Interstate 65 in the Louisville area.Motorists in the area will see construction signs, lane closures, and tractor-trailer detours.
