Four People from London, Kentucky Arrested for Disability Fraud

The charges stem from an investigation by the new Cooperative Disability Investigations Unit , which was created last September. The Corbin, Kentucky Social Security Administration Office reported suspected fraud during a continuing disability review. Authorities say the defendants were involved in a scheme to cash a Supplemental Security Income check issued to Eric Partain, after he died.

Tax Commission Delays Picking a Consultant

A commission tasked with coming up with elements of a new tax code for Kentucky held its second meeting in Frankfort Tuesday. The group is chaired by Lieutenant Governor Jerry Abramson and is made up of business leaders from across the state.

State Budget Director Says General Fund Receipts Increase

The Office of the Budget Director for the State of Kentucky says General Fund receipts were up significantly last month. State Budget Director Mary Lassiter says General Fund receipts grew 8.4 percent in March, compared to March of last year.
