Paving of the final asphalt surface on the southbound lanes of Interstate 65 is scheduled for this weekend. Southbound I-65 will be completely closed from I-64 in downtown Louisville to I-264 (mile points 136.4 to 131.2).  This road closure is scheduled from 7 p.m. EDT Friday, July 20, to 5 a.m. Monday, July 23.

Motorists traveling on Interstate 64 in Louisville will soon encounter another traffic change as construction continues on the I-64/I-65 interchange. The exit ramps from eastbound and westbound I-64 to southbound I-65 are scheduled for closure this weekend.

Crews are finishing concrete paving today on the southbound lanes of the John F. Kennedy Memorial Bridge.  Once this work is complete, motorists will see changes Thursday morning to the traffic patterns on Interstate 65 across the bridge.   Currently, traffic is restricted to one lane for southbound I-65 and two lanes for northbound I-65.

The northbound lanes of I-65 still remain closed following a commercial vehicle crash just north of Park City overnight Monday.

Kentucky State Police anticipate the road being at least partially re-opened by 7:00 a.m. Central time. Motorists are being detoured off I-65 at park City and back on at Cave City via US 31W. Long delays are anticipated while driving through the detour route due to the heavy volume of traffic. Motorists should reduce their speed accordingly.
