WKU and Western Carolina meet Saturday night at 7:30 PM at E.A. Diddle Arena in the second and final game of the mainland portion of the 2012 Cancun Challenge. WKU defeated Austin Peay in the first game of the Cancun Challenge Tuesday night, and Western Carolina lost at Wichita State Thursday night.
WKU has been picked to finish third in the Sunbelt Conference East, and sophomores George Fant and T.J. Price were named Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference performers. Voting was done by the league's head coaches and announced Wednesday in conjunction with conference media day activities.
The WKU football team gave the homecoming crowd reason to cheer in the first half of their Sun Belt matchup with Louisiana-Monroe, then sent the fans home dejected as the Warhawks won in overtime, 43-42.
