The Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches is asking Elizabethtown tourism officials to help market the state's new Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame. Association executive director Ken Trivette told the Elizabethtown Tourism and Convention board the Hall will preserve the stories and contributions of coaches and players.
State and local officials are announcing a plan to expand the Elizabethtown, Kentucky facilities of STC Management Group. STC manages Sun Tan City and Planet Fitness businesses. Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear says the company is investing $350,000 in the Elizabethtown area to add fifteen professional jobs. The Group has been headquartered in the Hardin County city since 2004.
An anonymous purchaser has paid $4.5 million for a unique soda fountain at an auction of Coca Cola Memorabilia in Elizabethtown. The News Enterprise and the Associated Press report that the buyer bid by phone Sunday for the item offered by the Schmidt Museum of Coca Cola Memorabilia.
The Associated Press is reporting that a National Weather Service team has determined at least one of the strong storms that raced through Kentucky Wednesday was an EF2 tornado, with winds up to 125 miles per hour.
Officials say waves of strong storms damaged dozens of homes and businesses in north central Kentucky, but left only one person injured.
