WKU Sophomore Snipes Out for Year with Torn ACL

The WKU men's basketball team will be without one of their top reserves this season. Sophomore Nigel Snipes suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee Monday, and will miss the entire 2012-13 season. A statement issued by WKU Athletics says a full recovery is expected in time for the 2013-14 season.

In WKU's season opening win last Saturday against Austin Peay, senior wide receiver Marcus Vasquez didn’t have a particularly amazing stat line: one catch for 25 yards. But the fact Vasquez was on the field at all is a tribute to the power of the human body, spirit—and the miracle of modern medicine.
