WKU and USDA Ag Research Service Strengthen Partnership
Officials at Western Kentucky University say the opening of a new greenhouse/headhouse facility on the WKU farm will add to a strong partnership between the University and the Agricultural Research Service. The new facility will conduct research on several topics, including ways to reduce odors from livestock production.
Dr. Gary Ransdell, the President of WKU, says it took the support of state and federal legislators, as well as leaders in the Agriculutral Research Service to make the new research facility a reality. That facility will be located on Bennett Lane at the Western Kentucky University Farm. In addition to research regarding odors from livestock production, the facility will address several areas of study that can impact water quality in the region.
The ribbon cutting for the new facility took place on the WKU farm this morning.
