U.S. Bank Closing Bowling Green Call Center

U.S. Bank

U.S. Bank is closing its home mortgage call center in Bowling Green, affecting about 100 workers.

Employees were notified on Wednesday that operations at the Louisville Road facility would cease by the end of September.

U.S. Bank Regional President Craig Browning says a few of the displaced workers will remain with the company but work from home.  Others will go to a much larger call center in Owensboro.

"With a center here of 100 to 125 employees versus that one where we have over 2,000 employees, it really is a business decision to consolidate operations and gain efficiencies," Browning told WKU Public.

While he didn’t have exact numbers, Browning says some positions will also be transferred to a large call center in Irving, Texas.  The call center’s closing will not impact any brank banking operations.
