Training for Amber Alert

Louisville – The Governor's Office of Child Abuse and Domestic Violence Services hosted the first of three training programs Tuesday. It was designed for law enforcement professionals, emergency services personnel and local broadcasters on a protocol developed by the administration for a Kentucky version of the Amber Alert System.

The protocol for a Kentucky Amber Alert system was developed at the direction of the First Lady by the Governor's Office of child Abuse and Domestic Violence Services, the Kentucky State Police, the Kentucky Division of Emergency Management, the Kentucky Broadcaster's Association, and other agencies. The AMBER Alert System is one part of the "Kentucky Missing Child Project" initiated by Mrs. Patton in January, 2002.
