It's Spring Break, and That Means Very Heavy Traffic on I-65 South

Motorists planning to travel south on Interstate 65 are being warned to expect extremely heavy traffic this weekend.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Office in Elizabethtown says slow driving conditions havebeen experienced in recent years heading into the week when many schools are out on spring break.

Friday afternoon and early evening are expected to see the heaviest traffic volume, although Saturday and Sunday will likely be much more congested than what’s usually experienced on the weekend.

Weather could also play a factor, as rain is expected during parts of the weekend and early next week.

That could reduce visibility for motorists.
