The WKU Hilltoppers hoped to pull off the biggest NCAA tournament upset in history. Instead, the overall #1 seed showed why they earned that ranking. Kentucky beat WKU 81-66 Thursday night in a game that often wasn't even that close. Terrence Jones scored 22 points for the Wildcats, and three other UK players scored in double-digits.

Brad Rodu says it's time for the public health community to re-think how it looks at the smoking debate in this country.  Rodu is head of the Tobacco Harm Reduction effort at the University of Louisville's James Graham Brown Cancer Center. He says for too long the smoking issue has come down to an all-or-nothing wager: smokers are told they either have to give up cigarettes, or keep smoking and die.

Lexington police are allowing access to the murder weapon used by former Barren County lawmaker Steve Nunn, who is serving a life sentence in prison for shooting to death his ex-fiance, Amanda Ross.

The Associated Press now says at least 12 people were killed by the storms that moved through our region Wednesday. At least 10 tornadoes touched down in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee.  According to Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon, there were three fatalities in his state. According to the AP, six people died in Harrisburg, Ill. More than 100 people are said to have been injured.

New technology being unveiled in Louisville will offer faster and more accurate treatment for lung cancer patients. The TrueBeam machine allows doctors to deliver radiation more accurately to tumors in the lungs. University of Louisville radiation oncologist Dr. Neal Dunlap says TrueBeam offers two ways for doctors to more accurately see what's going on inside a cancer patient.
