The national group in charge of getting Republicans elected to Congress is investing $400,000 in Kentucky’s Sixth Congressional District.

A Kentucky law firm that specializes in nursing home abuse cases is pushing back on nursing home company Extendicare’s claim that the state’s legal environment is causing it to pull back its operation.

A continued contract dispute between an Eastern Kentucky hospital network and the largest private Medicaid operator in the state is leading to confusion in the region. CoventryCares and Appalachian Region Healthcare are locked in a legal dispute over a new contract, with another court hearing scheduled for Tuesday.

Kentucky’s two largest cities are looking to help businesses expand their markets. Louisville and Lexington have formed a business partnership called the Bluegrass Economic Advancement Movement, or BEAM. On Monday, BEAM officials announced plans for an export service for businesses in each city and along Interstate 64 between them.

One of Kentucky's leading voices against child abuse is speaking out about abuse he suffered as a child. State Rep. Tom Burch is the chairman of the House Health and Welfare committee. Burch wrote a letter to the Lexington Herald-Leader that mentioned that he was sexually abused by a priest as a middle schooler and was also physically abused by his father.
