Gas Line Rupture In Allen County

Halfway, KY – Evacuees from the scene of a natural gas pipeline rupture in Allen County were allowed to return to their homes five hours after the 3:00 a.m. Thursday eruption.
Nearly 300 people were evacuated around the scene in the Halfway community,
six miles north of Scottsville. There were no injuries.
Officials still don't know what caused the rupture but they're looking at a spot on the 30 inch line that ahd previously been welded

Ft. Campbell Soldiers Return

Fort Campbell, KY – More than 175 soldiers returned to Fort Campbell Army Base early Thursday morning after serving in Iraq for the past year.
Members of the 2nd Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment arrived at the post just after 4:00 a.m.
This was the second tour of duty for many of the soldiers, who said they were excited to be back on American soil.
The soldiers will remain at Fort Campbell for the next few months, at which point they'll be moved to Fort Riley, Kansas.

Hardin Co. To Display Commandments

Elizabethtown, KY – Hardin County fiscal court has taken the first step toward trying to display the Ten Commandments on county owned property.
Magistrate Roy easter proposed a motion Tuesday that was unanimously approved by the court.
It directs the county attorney to research and draft a resolution to authorize a display of the Ten Commandments.
The display would be alongside other historical documents on designated county-owned property and buildings.
