Historians Reflect on Causes of the War of 1812

As the nation approaches the June 18th anniversary of the start of the War of 1812, WKU Historians Jack Thacker and Glenn LaFantasie say a combination of issues led to the outbreak of that war. The issues ranged from European conflicts to the impressment of sailors and westward expansion.

Dr. Glenn LaFantasie of the WKU Institute for Civil War Studies is involved in a software mapping project that could become very significant to future historians. The WKU Historian has been to Shiloh in recent months, helping to map that historic Civil War battlefield.
