WKU Drops to .500 in Sun Belt, Loses at Home to Arkansas St.

WKU dropped a 67-49 decision to Arkansas State Saturday night at E.A. Diddle Arena, ending a bid for three-straight Sun Belt Conference victories. The loss drops WKU to 13-12 overall and 7-7 in the Sun Belt Conference.

A season high 5,862 fans were on hand on a night in which WKU honored the All-Diddle Arena Team and welcomed back the 2002-03 NCAA Tournament team celebrating its 10th anniversary.

The win was Arkansas State's first in Bowling Green in the last 11 tries dating back to the 1997-98 season.

T.J. Price led WKU with 21 points on 7-of-16 shooting, and he also led WKU in rebounding with seven and in assists with four. It was Price's fifth 20-point game of the season and sixth of his career, and he has now led WKU in scoring a team high nine times this season. Arkansas State was led by Trey Finn's 23 points and six three-pointers, and Brandon Peterson had nine points and 10 rebounds.

WKU Women Stay Unbeaten in Sun Belt Play, Hilltopper Men Lose to UALR

The WKU men's and women's basketball teams had different results against Arkansas-Little Rock Thursday, with the women winning their fifth conference game and the men dropping a close one on the road.

The WKU men battled back from a 14-point first-half deficit to tie the game at halftime, but UALR made over 50 percent of its shots from the floor in the second half and earned a 75-67 win over the Hilltoppers in Little Rock, Ark. The loss drops WKU to 10-6 overall and 4-1 in conference play, and UALR improves to 9-7 and 3-2.

Brandon Harris recorded his second career double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, and he has now led WKU in rebounding in four-straight games. Harris also played all 40 minutes in the game and has now played all but five minutes of the last six Hilltopper games. Kevin Kaspar had 13 points thanks in part to three three-pointers, and Teeng Akol had 10 points and five rebounds in 26 minutes.

WKU Women Win, Remain Perfect in Sun Belt

The WKU women used a 10-0 run in the final four minutes of the game to break a 62-62 tie en route to a 78-69 win over UALR at the Jack Stephens Center to stay unbeaten in Sun Belt Conference play.

Petrino to Introduce New Offensive, Defensive Coordinators Wednesday

WKU football coach Bobby Petrino is bringing another former Louisville Cardinal to the Hill. Petrino will introduce his new offensive and defensive coordinators Wednesday afternoon at a news conference on campus.

Former U of L quarterback and offensive coordinator Jeff Brohm will be put in charge of the WKU offense. Brohm comes to Bowling Green after serving as offensive coordinator at Alabama-Birmingham.

Brohm is a Louisville native who played quarterback at U of L in the early 90s and played eight seasons in the NFL.

WKU Hilltoppers Look to Make History, Win First Major College Bowl Game

The WKU football team takes on Central Michigan Wednesday night in the Little Caesar's Bowl--the first ever major college bowl game for the Hilltoppers. WKU will look for another big game from their do-everything running back, receiver, and kickoff/punt returner Antonio Andrews, who is looking to set the NCAA record for total yards in a season.

The Little Caesar's Bowl is being televised nationally on ESPN, with kickoff scheduled for 6:30pm central time Wednesday evening.

Defensive coordinator Lance Guidry is coaching the Hilltoppers following the departure of former coach Willie Taggart, who left WKU to become the new head coach at South Florida. WKU made national news when they hired former Louisville and Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino just three days after Taggart's depature.

WKU Faces the Music in Music City, Drops Game to Louisville

WKU shot 50% in the second half and had just seven second-half turnovers Saturday night at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn., but the 5th-ranked Louisville Cardinals earned a 78-55 win to wrap up WKU's non-conference slate for 2012-13.

A crowd of 10,728 was on-hand to see WKU and Louisville begin a new four-year series of games. The loss is WKU's third-straight, all coming against teams that went a combined 90-19 and won at least one game in the NCAA Tournament a season ago, and drops the Hilltoppers' record to 8-5. Louisville improves to 11-1.
