Carter and Rice to Play for Hot Rods This Season

Two former WKU Hilltopper baseball players will be in uniform for the Bowling Green Hot Rods this season. The single a minor league affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays has announced that Kes Carter and Matt Rice are on the 2012 Hot Rods roster.

Carter is a left handed hitting outfielder from Brentwood, Tennessee and Rice is a catcher who also

earned academic honors at WKU. Opening Day for the Hot Rods this season is set for Thursday, April 5^th.

WKU Will Host the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Tournament at Bowling Green Ballpark

Officials from the Bowling Green Hot Rods and WKU have announced that the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Tournament will be held at Bowling Green Ballpark May 23rd through 27th. WKU will play host to the top eight teams in the Sun Belt Conference, with each team guaranteed to play three games in the round robin format.
